about

These tracks were recovered and remastered from DAT tapes and vinyl, they were originally recorded in the period between 1994 and 2000 in Manchester, England. The selection includes out takes from the Tony D Pound For Pound album, as well as two unreleased instrumentals. A Japanese import vinyl version of the "Spellbound" instrumental is also included along with the writing track for "Hold Us Down". This sparse demo track is the version Mark took to the Congos singer Cedric Myton in White Plains, The Bronx. The First Priority track " A Transformation" was only previously available on the Frying The Fat vinyl issue. "Like Communication" is an example of the first time Mark & Steve worked together in North South Studios, Mark 1 appearing on additional scratch duties. As a Drum & Bass footnote Marcus Intalex provides a very early liquid workout.
