about

This was Mark's first solo album, it features some familiar names to the Grand Central stable with Veba an eternal favourite along with Spikey Tee who also features on the Tony D album. Joseph Cotton also features with a Jamaican Dancehall influence that would go on to be reflected in Mark's project with Rhys Adams Yesking. Rae Road was made using and MPC60 and an EMU ESI32 sampler and was a massive chopped up affair using sources from records gathered all over the globe. The Joseph Cotton vocal was recorded in Tib St at the old Grand Central offices. When Joseph turned up to record one wekkday lunchtime he was wearing a suit and a bobble hat, smoking a spliff and drinking a beer. The staff were quite bemused but I loved the approach.
